New Paltz winery draws food festival crowds

NEW PALTZ At the the annual Bounty of the Hudson food and wine festival Sunday, Rivendell Winery of New Paltz featured one chardonay, one merlot and one sangria.
"Our sangria went over the best," manager Melanie Neucall said of the lighter wine punch. "It definitely was one sweeter crowd."
That wasn't surprising, she said. On one weekend marked by stifling temperatures and an excessive heat watch issued by the National Weather Service, festival-goers were reaching for something that was refreshing. ...
